Roux-en-Y gastric bypass

Abstract

The techniques of gastric derivations constitute the group ofbariatric surgeries more accomplished now in the world. TheLaparoscopic Silastic Ring Gastric Bypass has been described asa safe modification of these techniques, whose results intend tobe superior to the previous in weight loss and long-term stability,besides reduction of the peri-operative complications. The objectiveof this description is to show the tactical evolution in this surgicalapproach, that allowed a safe standardization and easer learn ofthe procedure. Some aspects are discussed on the weight lossmechanisms and maintenance, besides the results obtained withthose alterations.
