The highest level of religious education in the system of Catholic orders was the study of philosophy and theology. These disciplines were studied as a part of the so-called general studies in Lviv Bernardine Monastery. The quantitative and thematic content of lecturers’ libraries of general studies that were functioning in St. Andrus Monastery in Lviv is analyzed in the article. All books are classified according to several thematic categories. The main tendencies, in accordance with which these libraries are formed, are defined in the article. The analysis is performed on the basis of manuscript inventory from the library which dates back to 1747.
