Terrain festif contemporain : une mise en perspective de fêtes et festivals

Abstract

The festive dimension is a complex component of social life that is still difficult to define. Marked by the ephemeral imprint and anchored in the sociocultural universe where it is realized, each festive event is a subject of study by its own. Taking in consideration these specificities, this article is based on two case studies carried out in Brazil during ethnographic surveys. The observation of certain aspects of a community party, on the one hand, and a festival, on the other hand, will allow to highlight attributes of these two formats and to qualify them on a conceptual level. The challenge of this shift in the analytical scale is to demonstrate the potential of this research field to understand some of the cogs in the contemporary world.
