DEVELOPING THE COMPETENCES OF THE GEOGRAPHY TEACHER IN PREGRADUAL PREPARATION
Abstract
The paper focuses on developing the professional competencies of geography teachers during their preparatory education. We have focused more on the didactic competencies associated with the ability to diagnose, evaluate and classify pupils. The results of several national and international evaluation reports show that there are significant shortcomings in teacher competencies in the field of control, classification and evaluation of educational outcomes. At the same time, it is an area that deserves great attention because it belongs to the most sensitive (from the viewpoint of pupils, parents and superiors) in the whole educational process. In the paper we also present the way and results of feedback through the self-reflection of geography students at the end of the study. In order to optimize the undergraduate training of future teachers, we have strengthened the issue of evaluation, control and classification of pupils' educational outcomes within geography didactics. We focused on the testing area from a number of ways of review. The theory and the creation of didactic tests as one of the important means of objectification of the evaluation should be concretized in the form of planning, construction, pilot verification or standardization of didactic tests. The ideal area for this activities of education are the didactics of subjekts.
