THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF INTRAPERSONAL CONFLICT IN WORKS KAREN HORNEY

Abstract

Purpose. This article is devoted to the theoretical review of works of Karen Horney. The paper considers the problem of intrapersonal conflict from the position of author’s socio-cultural concept. The proposed article discloses the specifics of the emergence, course and resolution of internal contradictions of personality, which was identified by K. Horney. Methodology. The main methods of the proposed work is the theoretical analysis, synthesis and generalization of the basic theses of the theory of personality of K. Horney. Results. The results of the theoretical analysis are the conclusions about the factors and mechanisms of occurrence of internal conflicts of the personality. Practical implications. Appeal to the works of Karen Horney allows to form the theoretical basis for further empirical study of the problem of intrapersonal conflict of the personality in a modern context.
