Perspectiva de los roles de género y sus representaciones en la televisión peruana. Análisis de casos emblemáticos desde 1980 hasta 2010

Abstract

The mass media are able to install ideas according to the transformations that take place in reality, they can also reinforce traditional images and stereotyped roles of each one. It is relevant to investigate how the media have been collecting and, at thesame time, building the image of women. In particular, it is interesting to know the development of this aspect in Peruvian television, over three decades that reflect political violence, corruption, authoritarianism and democratic recovery. Next, an analysis and reflections on female roles and gender relations within the framework of the Peruvian media, gender theories and Peruvian political history will be offered, taking into consideration different television genres: comedy programs, programs of entertainment and relevant TV series in the television history of Peru in a historical context from 1980 to 2010.
