26 Years of the Journal of Management and Economics: A Bibliometric Investigation(Yönetim ve Ekonomi Dergisi’nin 26 Yılı: Bibliyometrik Bir İnceleme)

Abstract

Academic journals constitute a very important element of the scientific world due to the important role they play in the dissemination and sharing of scientific knowledge. Official and private academic journals, the number of which has increased rapidly in recent years, make a serious contribution to realizing this mission. The Journal of Management and Economics, which started its publication life in 1995 as a publication of Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, successfully fulfills this task with its long years of experience and a respected place in the field. In this study, the articles in the 51 issues of the journal published between 1995 and 2020 were examined bibliometrical and descriptive statistical point of view. The findings obtained from the examinations revealed that the cooperation rate increased over time, MCBÜ members relatively contributed more, the article evaluation period was long, the internationalization rate remained low, and the articles in the field of business were mostly published. The bibliometric analyzes show that the journal is not in compliance with main bibliometric rules.
