Temas educacionales: Una aproximación a la deserción en la educación media

Abstract

The document reviews some of the theory and practical lineaments about the subject of student desertion during high school. The work is structured in two parts; the fi rst one responds to an analysis of the process of decentralization of Chilean education and the educational politics, including the obligation of 12 years of schooling. The second part reviews the theme of school desertion in high school and fi nally, the author concludes with an interpretation of the incidence of education in the conception of poverty.
