Preoperative care in gynecological surgery (clinical case)
Abstract
D.M. Ibragimova Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow, Russian Federation Fungal infections are known to provoke vulvar and vaginal inflammation in 20% to 45% of women. About 75% of women have experienced vaginal infections at least once. Vulvovaginal candidiasis is caused by Candida spp. isolated in every tenth woman of reproductive age. Bacterial vaginosis manifests as genital tract dysbiosis and is diagnosed in more than 50% of women presented with complaints of pathological vaginal discharge. Bacterial vaginosis associated with candidiasis requires complex treatment to manage both disorders. In these cases, various combined medications to eradicate both bacterial and fungal flora are recommended. Among these agents, Neo-Penotran® Forte L may be considered as the first-line choice. This paper describes 40 women who received Neo-Penotran® Forte L preoperatively before the surgery for genital prolapse. This agent improves the percentage of recovery and decreases recurrence rate. No allergic reactions or adverse side effects were reported.
