Abstract

Sustainable development is one of the objectives of the European integration process. The activity of the EU in recent years to achieve this objective is based on the energy transition. The analysis of European strategies and laws show the promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency has become a tool that is being used for the protection of the environment, the fight against climate change and the promotion of the green economy. However, given the results, the achievement of the specific objectives seems to be slowing down, so the EU must strengthen its activity to complete the energy transition. The development of the European Green Deal is going to be fundamental.
