This exploratory research is motivated by the importance given today to innovation and sustainability, as well as by the need to incorporate environmental, economic, and social dimensions into the context of project management for product development, aiming for sustainable innovation. This study sought to analyze how sustainability concepts were used in the process of product development. To explore the concept of sustainable innovation, we carried out a single-case study of a project involving the development of an innovative product. For data collection, we used project documents and a semi-structured interview with the project leader. As a result, we concluded that the project was aligned in terms of sustainability in regard to the theoretical framework presented based on the triple-bottom line model, showing evidence of actions, practices, and indicators of economic, environmental, and social sustainability in the management of the evaluated project.
