Mens emblematica, mens juridica, mens anthropologica. Réflexions autour de la contribution des jurisconsultes humanistes auteurs d’emblèmes à l’anthropologie (premier xvie siècle)
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the place taken by knewledge and questions concerning anthropology in works related to the development of emblematic in the first half of the sixteenth century. Through the study of various emblems composed by André Alciat, Guillaume de La Perrière, Barthélemy Aneau and Pierre Coustau, he endeavors to demonstrate the links between emblematic, the study of ancient rites and the analyses of different social and human phenomena, and also the development, in this context, of intellectual perspectives that are not foreign to contemporary anthropology.
