“La nostra ora più buia”: gli storici e la rappresentazione della pandemia nella comunicazione pubblica e nella politica
Abstract
The covid-19 pandemic has revolutionized the political agenda of most states and sparked public debates that often suggest comparisons with historical events of the past (the World Wars, the Spanish flu epidemic of 1917-1918). Thus, historians can make an essential contribution to our understanding of the contradictions of some of the measures to prevent the contagion and shed light on the public use of history within the construction of a public “narrative” on the coronavirus. In this section Alice Ciulla (Rome) Stefano Bottoni (Florence) and Massimiliano Livi (Trier) will offer different points of view on the representation of the pandemic in public communication and politics.
