Note on the Topological Indices and Corresponding Weighted Edge Entropies of Different Variants of Carbon Nanotubes
Abstract
Entropy is a general term for measuring or determining the uncertainty of a system. Because of the advantageous concept of entropy, it has gained interest and attraction from the standpoint of graph theory, as it has been used as applied mathematical chemistry. The first application of graph-based entropy was to determine the structural information of chemical networks or graphs. Networks, like mathematical chemistry, are constructed in the form of nodes and edges to form a network or system graph. Carbon nanotubes, on the other hand, have a long history of use in memory devices and tissue engineering. Carbon nanotubes, a productive chemical structure, are studied here by affixing one-end and both-end caps to them. The entropy of three different carbon nanotube topologies is calculated. Some comparative work is provided in addition to the analytical study of the entropy measure of armchair carbon nanotubes.
