The Main Approaches to the Study of Soft Power in the Domestic Political Science

Abstract

The article is devoted to the identification of main approaches to soft power in Russian political science. The author analyzes the structural, process-oriented, measuring-instrumental and technological approaches. Within the framework of the latter approach, the following areas are distinguished: 1) the understanding of soft power as a passive attraction; 2) humanitarian and cultural; 3) psychological and ideological. It is asserted that a cautious attitude to soft technologies is widespread in the domestic science.
