Thermoanalytic Study of Biomass

This paper presents the results of thermoanalytic study of stem (Pragmites Australis) in comparison with lignin and cellulose standards. The TGA curve of real biomass sample has a similar behaviour character as the standard lignin curve. DTGA and DTA curves indicate in a transformation of phase changes the cellulose structure and endothermic degradation of extractive matters. The thermoanayitic method is not suitable for the quantitative analytical identification of lignin and cellulose in the biomass.
