Eleştirel Söylem Çözümlemesi: Haber Örnekleri Üzerinden Bir İnceleme

Abstract

In this study, the ideological production in news discourse is analyzed. For this purpose, the analysis was made on two news. The reason for carrying out this analysis is that many studies claiming to carry out critical discourse analysis in Turkey have made structural mistakes in using methods and analyses. In order not to commit the similar mistake, the harmony of theoretical basic method was ensured in the study. For instance, when critical discourse analysis was carried out, this was first explained theoretically. Since the macro - micro scheme of Teun Adrian van Dijk is used in the method, the critical discourse approach of the scholar is also explained. This was followed by the explanation of his macro - micro scheme under the title of method. And then, based on the schema, analyses were carried out in accordance with the nature of critical discourse analysis, accompanied by linguistic concepts. The reason why analyses are made on two news articles is to show how critical discourse analysis is to be carried out. A study by van Dijk (1991), who preferred to use a single news story in his analysis, was taken as an example. According to the analysis, van Dijk’s approach and scheme are compatible with Turkish news. In this sense, it has been revealed that there is ideological production in the discourse of the news.
