Estatura dos jogadores que disputaram a Copa do Mundo conforme posição em campo
Abstract
Objetivos: o presente estudo teve por objetivo descrever o padrão de estatura dos jogadores que disputaram a Copa do Mundo da FIFA 2014® e verificar se existem diferenças significantes na estatura desses jogadores conforme a posição ocupada dentro de campo. Materiais e métodos: a estatura e a posição dos jogadores convocados para a Copa do Mundo foi obtida a partir da lista de convocação oficial da FIFA. De todos os jogadores convocados, 96 (13,04%) eram goleiros, 230 (31,25%) defensores, 249 (33,83%), meio campistas e 161 (21,88%) atacantes. Para comparação das médias de estatura dos goleiros, defensores, meio campistas e atacantes foi utilizada a ANOVA de uma via. O nível de significância foi de p0,05). Conclusão: a média de estatura dos jogadores que disputaram a Copa do Mundo da FIFA 2014 variou conforme a posição em campo e parece relacionar-se com as funções específicas de cada posição. Aspectos biológicos, técnicos, táticos e também comportamentais figuram como as principais justificativas para as diferenças encontradas e precisam ser mais bem investigados.
