Abstract
La expedición de los hermanos Heuland, tuvo lugar de 1795 a 1800, durante el reinado de Carlos IV. Los objetivos de la mencionada expedición consistían en ampliar y completar las colecciones minerales pertenecientes al Gabinete de Historia Natural. La expedición arribaría a Montevideo, dirigiéndose posteriormente a Argentina, para recorrer, finalmente, diversas zonas de Chile, Perú y Bolivia.La colección que se obtuvo de aquel itinerario, se encuentra actualmente en el Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, poseyendo un gran valor histórico al conservar el etiquetado original, consistente en una clasificación en grupos, mediante símbolos alquímicos. The expedition of the Heuland brothers, took place from 1795 to 1800, during the reign of Charles IV. The objectives of that expedition were to expand and complete mineral collections belonging to the Cabinet of Natural History. The expedition would arrive to Montevideo, going then to Argentina and, finally, to go through different areas of Chile, Peru and Bolivia.The collection which was obtained from this route, is now in the National Museum of Natural History of Madrid, having a great historical value because it preserves the original labeling, that consist in a classification in groups, using alchemical symbols .
