Abstract
Organisational renewal: The identification of certain constructs. Organisations consist of interactive subsystems and processes which create a whole-forming "Gestalt". Researchers are nevertheless inclined to focus on divergent organisational subsystems and processes when studying organisational renewal. This propensity possibly gave rise to divergent definitions of organisational renewal which creates a lack of discipline and demarcation in the development of this field of study. Due to a need for the identification and integration of relevant constructs, a content analysis of a number of organisational renewal definitions was made. It was found that the constructs "man", "strategy", "technology", "processes" and "intervention" are the most important building blocks of organisational renewal. These constructs are integrated in a definition to create direction for a more disciplined approach to organisational renewal.
