Representations of the man of letters in the Spanish Literary Republic of the XVIII century

Abstract

This article gives a comprehensive picture of the problems of economic and social order of the Spanish writer during the eighteenth century. It also notes the strategies used by the men of letters to be visible in a society that valued the usefulness and how they got a public space protected by the monarchy.
