Specializzazioni mediche e dintorni. Un commento alla lettera di GM Pisanu

Abstract

Pisanu’s letter is a quite interesting document who deals with the problem of the medical post-doctoral education in Italy (training funnel) purposing to employ the excess of young Italian physician without speciality in General Hospital Emergengy Units for COVID-19. As the problem of the training funnel is a consequence of the upgrade of the Italian medical education system to European standards, as done some years ago, a look at two European Countries (Switzerland, not a UE member) and France (a UE member) is given. Despite some wide political and social differences, each of these two countries (France and Switzerland) shows a more flexible and self-managed medical education system.
