Julius Mosen’s understanding the poetry – his poem Ruhe am See Poet Julius Mosen (1803-1867) – Young Hegelian, a pre-March poet and master of contemporary drama – in 1830 he dealt with Polish fight of independence. In his poems devoted to spring and nature we find multilayered poetic metaphors: the Poems contain poetic bases, confessions associated with tradition and statements referring to the current situation. The poem Mosen Ruhe am See belongs to the Frühlingslieder cycle. This is a poem devoted to nature, it refers to the reflection of reality in the dialectical process. Joining of quotations by Goethe and Heine and dialectical use of metaphors lead to the creation of a poem of philosophical character. The poem is a description of the poet as a lay author. Poetry appears as the climax of the constantly renewed earthly creation.
