Maintenance System Analysis Using the Reliability Centered Maintenance Method with the Help of Failure Mode Effect Analysis on the Air Handling Unit G4
Abstract
Most engineering systems experience failures that render the system inoperable, unexpected failures can cause a lot of losses. It is important to implement an effective maintenance strategy to ensure the availability of the system and the maintenance process must be carried out in accordance with the system used so that failure can be avoided. In this study, the object to be identified is damage to the Air Handling Unit G4 by identifying using the Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) method in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). From the calculation results, it was found that the v-belt component on the blower motor was often damaged with an RPN value of 56. The v-belt component is a component that must be prioritized in maintenance, so it is calculated using an exponential distribution and the results are found to have an average reliability value of 0.51 and an average failureability value of 0.49 which means that v-belt damage is still in fairly good reliability but must be accompanied by better maintenance as well. The highest availability value at 92% and the lowest 37% can be caused when the repair time is done quickly or slowly and the spare parts are available, this proves that the availability of spare parts is still in good condition
