Włoskie trionfi Bartłomieja Paprockiego na cześć króla Stefana Batorego

Abstract

Italian trionfi by Bartłomiej Paprocki in honor of King Stephen Báthory Summary This article presents a critical edition of “Triumf satyrów leśnych”, a late 16th-century work by Bartłomiej Paprocki. This work celebrates King Stephen Báthory and his victories in the Polish–Russian War (1577–1582). The edition includes of the entire cited work along with illustrations, necessary clarifications, and an index of proper names. An attempt was also made to define the genre of the work and their interpretation. Additionally, the article outlines the context of occasional political poetry during Báthory’s reign and the printing practices of the era.
