Abstract : We see a plethora of references to many areas of Maghrib history, particularly political and military dimensions, but the cultural dimension necessitates an analytical and deconstructive reading to uncover such hidden details. This study aims to examine Er-Raqiq Elkairouani's " the History of North Africa and Maghrib" in order to highlight cultural characteristics within their historical and political contexts. The issue under study can be framed as this question: What were the cultural characteristics that marked Islamic conquest and rule during the successive periods? The deconstructivist reading of some extremely important statements in such a reference provided specific evidences about the cultural circumstances up to the fifth century of Islamic calendar. The textual narration of such sections is primarily concerned with Islamic conquest and interactions with the middle Maghrib, with cultural factors receiving little attention. Keywords: Elkairouani, Maghrib, cultural dimensions, North Africa, Islamic conquest.
