Etude d'abcès intracrâniens chez le porc dans la région de Lubumbashi, Zaïre

Abstract

Study of intracranial abscesses by the pig in the area of Lubumbashi, Zaire. In a farm in the neighbourhood of Lubumbashi, fifteen pigs were suffering from a head twisting and were studied. Seven animals died and a post-mortem was carried out. The disease has been provoked by an intracranial abcess found in the internal acoustic meatus. This abcess was polybacterial : Staphylococcus sp and P. mirabilis were mostly isolated. The way the contamination occured could not be determined.
