Des effets pervers des politiques d’égalité. L’exemple de la Suisse et du Québec
Abstract
The Swiss-Quebec comparative analysis of the development of domestic economy during family stages challenges the a priori of the women-friendly nature of gender equality policies. Policies implemented in Québec promote women's access to more equal wages in the labor market. Yet, their influence on distribution rules of expenses and income within families may lead these women to find themselves in a more adverse economic situation than Swiss women who however live in a less gender-friendly country. If egalitarian policies promote women adopting the male individualistic and breadwinner model of citizen they implicitly support, they seem to penalize those who make alternative lifestyle choices.
