The objective of this research work is to assess the competences of the professors of the Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University (UFPSO), seeking to organize the performance of its teaching staff and the productivity of the programs. The research was of a descriptive exploratory type, it was proposed through a collaborative qualitative design, survey type, using a questionnaire. The population from which the information was obtained consisted of 352 teachers. The documentary technique was used and the questionnaire was used. For the identification of competences, the expert method was used and the Delphy for prioritizing them. Finally, the area competencies and role competencies were determined, with the data obtained the assessment scale was carried out, which allowed evaluating the teaching performance.
