Abstract

harmacovigilance is a very special area of patient health care. It is defined as that science which, together with its activities related to screening, evaluation, prevention and understanding of a drug adverse effects, allows to make a better use of them in the treatment as well as prevention of diseases identifying the risks and risk factors in the shortest time possible to avoid or diminish the harm they may cause. It is based on the scientific evidence and it helps guarantee the approval and safety of public health programs.
