This paper locates the discussion of the relationship between Filipino children’s literature and the education of children in the emerging field of Childhood Studies. It identifies some of the new questions and problems in the specific areas of literary criticism and research in the Philippines with the use of the new perspective of Childhood Studies. It presents recommendations on how discourse production may redirect and heighten interest in children’s literature in the Philippines and Filipino childhood.
