Language is not only a one-way system that allows negotiation but also a versatile structure that can make the world meaningful according to its features, usage places and functions. Literary works are one of the places where many elements find use space of the language that they contain. The artist, who is the creator of the literary work; he created the world of emotion, thought and imagination by combining it with the outside world. Artist uses the language to put concepts into words. Thus, the word that the artist has, the style he uses, the dominance of the language, and the work he creates are concrete. Therefore language; the writer, the reader, the reader, introduces the world. The ability to use the language is one of the criteria of the artist's success. One of the criteria that the artist can use the language well is that it can adequately reflect the language of the language. In this respect, vocabulary studies are of great importance for the artist and the work. Based on the importance of the vocabulary studies, Nobel Prize winning writer of Turkish Literature Orhan Pamuk's Cevdet Bey and His Sons novel was mentioned as the talk subject article. Cevdet Bey and His Sons aim to determine the verbal existence of the novel. For this purpose, the first novel of the author, Cevdet Bey and his sons, species, meaning, origin, usage frequency in detail.
