The Effects of Musicalization for Musical Development in Babies from Zero to Two Years
Abstract
The present article investigates the effects of music on babies from zero to two years and the possibilities of their physical, social and affective development. We conducted a bibliographic study based on Delalande, Gordon, Beyer, Ilari, among other authors. We conceptualize baby, music and musicalization within a perspective based on Jean Piaget’s sensorimotor stage of development. We discuss the Theory of Musical Development and musical stimulation. We outline relevant aspects of musical practices and stimuli, their probable causes and effects, emphasizing the influence of music on child development and the vital roles of family and school in this process.
