The Problems of Arabic Speaking Skills: Psycho-Sociolinguistic Perspective
Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the problematic speaking skills faced by Arabic language learners through the lens of psycho-sociolinguistics, a new approach compared to previous studies that had focused more on underlying phenomena and issues. Using a qualitative literature method with systemic literature approaches, this research explored four main categories of problems in Arabic speaking skills: phonological errors, sentence structure differences, reduplication form deviations, and socio-cultural and bilingual influences. The results of this study highlighted the complexity of mastering Arabic speaking skills, which was influenced by innate psycho-sociolinguistic factors. This research contributed to a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by non-native Arabic speakers and aimed to help learners reflect on and improve their Arabic speaking skills. By understanding the problematics, it supported Arabic learners in overcoming the obstacles of mastering speaking skills.
