2000-2006 Döneminde Türkiye’de Faaliyet Gösteren Sigorta Şirketlerinin Etkinlik Değerlendirmesi(Evaluation Efficiencies of Insurance Companies in Turkey During The Period of 2000-2006)

Abstract

This paper examines the developments in the technical, pure technical and scale efficiencies of insurance companies in Turkey for period 2000-2006. Efficiency scores are evaluated by using Data Envelopment Analysis. Malmquist Total Factor Productivity Index is used to measure changes in efficiency over time. The empirical results show that efficiency scores of insurance companies in Turkey increase during the period of 2000-2006.
