Study accomplished with clients submitted to Continuous Ambulatorial Peritoneal Dialysis - CAPD, aiming at minimizing the impact of the weakening factors on the client and his family, helping them to live worthily with therapy, by means of the care delivered at hospital and home grounds. Thus, 11 (eleven) clients were interviewed and visited at their homes objectifying the identification of their major problems. The interviews and visits enabled to know the difficulties experienced by the client, his expectations, the fear of the ghost of the infection and the modifications occurred in his life, demanding a redefinition in the identity of the client who suffers from chronic renal inadequacy.
