Mise à distance des enseignements dans le contexte de la crise sanitaire : Comment soutenir la motivation des étudiants ?
Abstract
The goal of this study is to evaluate a teaching method designed in the context of the health crisis to support students’ motivation. We compared a course that uses active methods, likely to meet the needs for autonomy, competence and affiliation of students, to a course that uses a transmissive method, broadcasted by videoconference. We conducted a survey among 83 psychology undergraduates that followed both courses in order to assess their perception of the learning climate, their evaluation of the teaching methods, and their motivation. Our results show that the students rate more positively the active teaching method, and perceive that course as supportive of their psychological needs. Therefore, they exhibit a higher level of self-determination. Moreover, self-determination is positively related to academic success.
