Cultural Identity and the Creation of Rum Tone Phetchabun Songs

The purpose of this research was to study the history and content of the Phetchabun dance songs inspired by assistant professor Kamol Boonkhet in 11 districts of the province. The results showed that there is a history of the true intention of Assistant Professor Kamol Boonkhet, Director of the Office of Arts and Culture Phetchabun Rajabhat University. He hopes to spread over a wide area the reputation to Phetchabun province to benefit the people of Phetchabun and enable the general public to know more about Phetchabun. Each song has a different inspiration for composing the lyrics, which is in accordance with the outstanding cultural diversity. Therefore the songs address various good things from each district, be it is food, traditions, culture, tourist attractions and other iimportant activities such as dance songs. Phetchabun has 11 districts, namely 1) Rum Tone Phetchabun Songs 2) Kai Yang Wichian Buri Song 3) Rum Vong Khao Kho Song 4) Lom Kao District Song 5) Nam Nao District Song 6) Lom Sak district Song 7) Chon Daen District Song 8) Bueng Sam Phan District Song 9) Wang Pong District Song 10) Nong Phai District Song 11) Sri Thep District Song The songs are valuable to tell about the essence of each district and what highlights are there. These highlights includes events, culture, traditions, food, tourist attraction as well as historical stories. They also capture a variety of essences of each district, indicating the strengths of that district, making it easier to understand in the context of the past and present social communities. The songs have short melodies that are easy to remember. The songs are a convenient way to communicate with students, and interested parties. Such songs in all 11 districts, in addition to the essence of the distinctive features of each district, in addition to the essence of each district’s distinctive features, also promote cultural tourism, leading to the development of agricultural production processes. Directly affect tourism in Phetchabun province. that various organizations, both public and private, must develop for sustainability.
