Relire les manuscrits : nouveautés épigraphiques de Tabarka (Tunisie) dans le journal de Francisco Ximenez

Abstract

This paper investigates the diary of the Trinitarian F. Ximenez concerning his stay in Tabarka in northwest Tunisia. Three unpublished inscriptions and two new readings of published inscriptions have been recognised in this account. An edition for each of the three new texts is proposed, as well as an evolution of the contributions of this source to the two known texts. In a second section, the use made by the CIL of the works of F. Ximenez is reviewed and the reasons why these texts remained unpublished are discussed.
