AGRICULTURAL SHOW IN 1851 AS A FACTOR OF ENHANCING PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN THE TULA PROVINCE

Abstract

Purpose. Expand the value of the first exhibition, held in the province of Tula in the XIXth century in socio-economic life of the Russian province. Methodology. The research is based on the historical genetic and the historical systemic methods, as well as the principles of scientific objectivity and historicism. Results. The author has introduced archival materials it the scientific circulation, identified the causes and consequences of the late exhibition activity in our region compared with other regions of the Russian Empire; gave a description of the organization’s work, determined its historical identity; convincingly demonstrated its importance for the development of the economic potential of the Tula province, and for the formation and development of the promotional activities in the region. Practical implications. The results of the study can be applied in the research of the economic and cultural life of the Russian province of the XIXth century
