Based on a polyphonic concept of the theatrical performance, this paper analyzes the way in which Pedro Calderón de la Barca designed the symbolic discourse of the Fábula de Andrómeda y Perseo, performed in the Buen Retiro Coliseum on the occasion of the health recovery of Queen Mariana of Austria. The external circumstance that originated the performance conditioned the relevance the playwright gave to the cosmographic theory of the four elements as conformers of a harmonic universe and that had its dramatic reflection in the dramatic spaces in which the action takes place.
