Abstract

We read with interest the study of Sarig. et al. about job reintegration conducted on Israeli patients suffering from brain tumor1. The study shows that for working patients there is a high risk of transforming the employment relationship; this means that all people after a diagnosis of brain cancer suffer a significant risk of reducing their working hours, and therefore from a full-time occupation they switch to a part-time relationship. The research also highlights another critical issue for young patients with a brain cancer diagnosis, about the difficulty in finding a suitable job occupation. The data from this study are taken from the 1995 Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics 1995 census which analyzed patients aged between 15 and 60 years over a period of 7 to 4 years.
