Flexible nickel aluminate (NiAl2O4) based dual-band double negative metamaterial for microwave applications
Abstract
Development and analysis of materials having flexibility, low dielectric constant and tangent losses are greatly demandable in the field of wireless technology. The purpose of this paper is introducing new flexible metamaterials design based on nickel aluminate (NiAl2O4) substrate material for microwave applications. Commercially available electromagnetic simulator computer simulation technology are utilised in this investigation. The Nicolson-Ross-Weir method is used to investigate the double negative characteristics of the designed flexible metamaterial structures. At 36% concentration of nickel based flexible substrate shows measured resonances at 8.34 GHz, 12.78 GHz and 14.32 GHz. As well as for nickel 42% concentration with different design, the measured resonance shows at 11.21 GHz. The developed flexible metamaterials are suitable for modern radar and satellite application.
