A estética da fome: Glauber Rocha e a abertura de novos horizontes
Abstract
In 1965, Glauber Rocha presents, in Genova, his Estética da fome, a thesis mining the European point of view on South American Art, by denouncing its longing for Primitivism. Lighting this crucial document about Cinema theory, in this article we try to understand in which way Rocha’s gaze goes over the lines that, in the international scene, distinguish us from European culture. That’s why, we tried to sketch out the expectation horizon with which critics receive the thesis, that adfirms new interpretation paradigms of Cinema Novo, over national borderlines.
