Comparative analysis of hematological, micromorphological and immunological reactions of obligate and not obligate definitive hosts Diphyllobothrium dendriticum (Cestoda: Pseudophyllidae)
Abstract
The data on hematological, micromorphological and immunological reactions of obligate hosts (nestlings of herring gull) to cestode Diphyllobothrium dendriticum invasion in comparison with ones of unobligated hosts (syrian hamster, a cat) were analyzed. There were clear tendency to decreasing of hemoglobin level in blood of the infected herring gull’s nestlings. The tendency is partially compen-sated with the intensification of erythropoiesis in obligate hosts, and vice versa its depression in unobligated hosts. The cestode invasion activates Т-cell immune response and suppresses a B-cell response of unobligated hosts and activates lowly Т-and В-cell reactions of the obligate hosts.
