Finding of the lesser stag beetle Dorcus parallelipipedus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Lucanidae) in Kazakhstan

The article presents data on the finding of the lesser stag beetle Dorcus parallelipipedus (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Akkum Landscape Reserve (Western Kazakhstan, Egindykol village environs). Two dead females were found 20.06.2017. This is the first discovery of the species in the country during the last century. At the beginning of the 20th century 1 specimen of the species was collected in in Mukhanovo village (Ural Region of Kazakhstan), now the village is under the administrative jurisdiction of Orenburg Region of Russia. The article provides general information about the species habitat in the regions of Russia close to Kazakhstan and considers the biotopes that possibly can be the species habitat in Kazakhstan.
