The court ceremonial at the end of the Middle Ages required every member of the royal family to be familiar with and trained in it, including the youngest ones. As for the Catholic Monarchs, the importance of their daughters in the dynastic succession and their capacity as representatives of the monarchy make this even more important. The image of the infantas during their first years of life allows us to better understand the shaping of their political identity as adults. This paper delves into the characteristics of the courtly culture around the infantas, which would later contribute decisively to their performance as the future queens of different European territories.
