One of the emerging resources in the construction of modern cultural identities is the new concept of landscape that appears as a key element in developing curriculum in the textbooks of the Basque Country. In this research, after reviewing the legislation governing the compulsory curriculum, we analyze the textbooks to find that the landscape – in addition to be in connection with concepts such as territory and environment–, has become the most common content in the iconography. Furthermore, the landscape that appears in textbooks is more urban and in relation to the territory, basic concept of political geography.
