ORGANIZATION OF WORK AND POSSIBILITIES FOR AN INCREASE OF FUNCTIONAL HANDLING CAPACITY OF THE DIAGNOSTIC DEPARTMENT AT THE KHABAROVSK BRANCH OF THE S. FYODOROV EYE MICROSURGERY FEDERAL STATE INSTITUTION

Purpose. Assessment of optimum quality in the work organization of the diagnostic department at the Khabarovsk Branch of the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution, a detection of opportunities of its further development.Material and methods. The analysis of organizational structure and activity algorithms of the diagnostic department of the Khabarovsk Branch of the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution was carried out in interrelations with various forms of payment.Results. Intensity of a daily flow of patients was 170-200 people. In their structure 80-90 individuals were invited for a treatment, 30-40 patients for a repeated appointment. Organizational measures allowed to reduce a duration of patients stay on the diagnostic examination line up to 10-15 min. In structure of a daily flow of patients the coordination department planned to invite 80-90 individuals for the surgery and conservative treatment, 30-40 patients – for the re-appointment after their performed treatment (surgery). A number of organizational arrangements allowed to reduce the duration of stay for one patient on the diagnostic line from 30- 60 min. to 10-15 min. (5-7 diagnostic examinations). Duration of passing of the diagnostic line in case of doctor consultations proceeded from 1 to 1.5 hours. The daily loading of diagnostic department already reached the maximum functional handling capacity (up to 200 patients a day) and now works at a peak of throughput opportunities. Frequency of refusal cases to perform the surgery was 13-15%.Conclusions. The Diagnostic Department of the Khabarovsk Branch of the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution has accumulated a considerable experience; the optimum organization of work allows to increase its capacity up to 200 patients a day.
