Brewing in Velká Polom.

Abstract

At present is the silesian community Velká Polom a part of the district Ostrava-město (Ostrava -Town). The history of this community is inherently connected with a unique fortress Velká Polom, with 2 local breweries and the brewer Jindřich Scholz. The initial renaissance brewery was constructed in the proximity of the fortress, its activity finished at the end of 19. century. At the same time was built a new brewery of Jindřich Scholz brewing beer till 30's of 20. century. The old brewery at the fortress is partially remained to present day, a pub brewery may be installed there. Without a fermentation and lager cellar new brewery remained up to now, a distillery is installed there.(In Czech, English summary only)
